Image by Getty Images via Daylife Paul Azinger has made his final picks for the upcoming Ryder Cup that will be contested on Sept. 19-21 at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, KY.
Here is the total list of players for the underdog class (I say underdogs because the U.S. has not won since 1999, which has included Tiger Woods): Phil Mickelson, Stewart Cink, Kenny Perry, Jim Furyk, Anthony Kim, Justin Leonard, Ben Curtis, Boo Weekley, Chad Campbell, Steve Stricker, Hunter Mahan and J.B. Holmes.
The European captain, Nick Faldo, will be leading his group that includes Padraig Harrington, Sergio Garcia, Henrik Stenson, Lee Westwood, Justin Rose,, Ian Poulter,
Thankfully, the U.S. team has 5 players that know how to play at the highest level. They are Phil Mickelson, Stewart Cink, Kenny Perry, Jim Furyk, and Justin Leonard. They will not struggle under the pressure. However, the Europeans have Padraig, Sergio, and Lee Westwood, who also are good under pressure, and lately Padraig and Sergio have been playing awesome.
So, it will be fun to watch the Ryder cup this year and maybe the golfing gods will have a smile of approval on this years U.S. Team.
